Abstract :
Graduate attributes assigned by the National Board of Accreditation, India help in attainment of program educational objectives. Here we consider that the twelve graduate attributes map directly to the twelve program objectives. The graduate attributes are salient and important for every graduating engineer. Each program outcome is achieved through course outcome. The curriculum comprising of various courses is framed under the general guidance of the leading professional body. As course outcome is mapped to program outcome it was found to vary from strong to weak. The delivery methods for various courses attain the course outcomes. Hence, the program outcome is achieved by various teaching-learning methodologies. Out of which, chalk and talk is found as the most effective mode of instruction in undergraduate curriculum despite the availability of many alternate instructional strategies. This paper gives statistical observations on various strategies for teaching undergraduate course and implementing outcome based education.
