Abstract
The classification of program agents is proposed in the paper. The results of investigation have allowed us to prove the formal model of a program agent. The following classes of program agents were investigated: the reflexive agent, independent and intelligent program agents. Models of the behaviour of a program agent for the solution of various problems of information resource management in a computer system are considered.
