Abstract :
A novel image encryption scheme using a 2-scroll chaos attractor is proposed in this paper. In this scheme, the random symbol sequence generated from Chua´s attractor is introduced to be a controlled variable, which is used to change the initial point of chaos randomly to ensure the property of ergodicity and the unpredictability of sequence. Thus almost every initial point will move to almost any position in the state space with equal probability as the system evolves in time. The 0-1 sequence is proved to be high complexity and good cipher quality. The symbol sequence is also used to confuse the image pixels randomly, and the Chua´s attractor is used directly for image encryption. Computer emulating shows that the new arithmetic perfectly resists chosen plaintext attack and low precision with perturbation. The scheme is demonstrated to be secure and efficient against the commonly known attacks. We come to the conclusion that the new image encryption method is of high speed and security.
