Abstract :
The paper presents and evaluates an enterprise methodology for migrating and changing a firm´s content to the Internet. A change management approach complements the implementation methodology. Over 90 percent of enterprises have undertaken major changes affecting half of the overall organization over the past two years. Two major factors include accelerating supply chain integration with customer-centric processes and implementing second generation e-business restructuring (J. Mahoney, 2001). Another factor influencing substantial organizational change is corporations moving content to the Internet. Web enabled systems provide a competitive advantage for attracting, selling to, and servicing clients globally and across industries (C. Wilder and M. McGee, 2000; Roundtable, 2001). Through 2004, 85 percent of mid to large firms and 70 percent of small to midsize businesses will experience at least one major organizational change. Three cross-industry case studies of global firms offer organizational lessons to improve Internet content change implementation.
