Abstract
This paper is to elaborate the importance and necessity of applying knowledge management (KM) in intelligent transportation systems (ITS). The paper also discusses the possible target market, the application ranges of KM in ITS, the main contents and the primary methods of KM in ITS. A typical model of KM in ITS are given to elucidate the three layers of KM platform in ITS. Finally, the paper expresses the prospective future of applying KM in ITS.
