Abstract
In recent years, digital home networking is popular in academic and industrial areas. It provides a variety of multimedia services for home customers. Among these services, the video services are the most attractive. But video services are sensitive and easy to be influenced by the fluctuation of available bandwidth. This paper proposes a bandwidth measurement and monitoring mechanism which can be adopted in home gateways for adaptive multimedia transmission in digital home environment. Experiments are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
