Abstract :
TFT-LCDs (thin-film transistor liquid-crystal displays) of symmetric subdot design that are 8.6 in measured diagonally have been developed. Each dot is divided into two subdots. These two subdots are symmetrical with respect to a source-busline. This configuration cancels the DC offset difference which is induced by the alignment tolerance and is especially effective for large-size TFT-LCDs.<>
