Abstract :
The setup design and the main performances of a powerful plasma source on the base of coaxial plasma accelerator "VIKA" with pulse gas puffing are given in this paper. Under the operating conditions with the discharge current lp /spl sim/ 150 kA (/spl tau//spl rho/ /spl sim/ 100/spl mu/s) the plasma flows with spatial energy density up to /sim/ 2 kJ/cm/sup 2/ (p /spl sim/ 20 MW/cm/sup 2/) were observed.
