Abstract :
The Intelligent Network/2 is an innovative architecture, the goals of which are: rapid deployment of new services by decoupling service offerings from generic software updates: ability of operating telephone companies (OTCs) to customize service offerings; network-based distributed intelligence; and flexibility of movement of services within the network to optimize the use of network resources. Operations strategies needed for the Intelligent Network/2 are reported on by structuring operations along the key service architecture capabilities of new-service creation, service control, and service provisioning. For operations, the Intelligent Network/2 provides the opportunity to define a single, comprehensive operations approach through the integration of processes and data strategies in support of all services and customer control capabilities offered through this architecture
