Abstract :
The public discourse on sustainable technology often involves a disconnect between political and engineering perspectives. This paper illustrates this disconnect in a case study of a dasiatechnology discourserdquo involving stakeholders in the biofuels industry. It concludes that professional associations such as the IEEE can promote the effective engagement of engineers in the public discussion of technology.
