Abstract :
Knowledge-based systems have emerged as an important discipline which can further enhance the effectiveness and productivity of the current information systems of the business community. There are more and more knowledge-based systems developed for business applications. It is our desire to introduce our students to the role knowledge-based systems could play in today´s business community. We feel that if is important for students of this department to be exposed to the knowledge-based technologies from a user´s perspective and to provide practical experience in developing a knowledge-based system. Hence, we have decided to introduce this subject into our curriculum at both the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The paper discusses our experience in designing and reaching the subjects. In our discussion, we have also included feedback from students in issues relating to teaching and learning of the subject
