  • Abstract
Applications of monolithic analog circuits are described with reference to two examples of two-wire transceivers for the integrated services digital network (ISDN), implemented in a double-poly silicon 2-μm CMOS technology. For the analog front end of an echo canceller a 12 bit D/A (digital-to-analog) converter with a ratio of signal-to-noise/total harmonic distortion better than 70 dB over a 120 kHz bandwidth and a highly linear line driver with a 6-Vpp output swing is given. An analog adaptive line equalizer of a burst transceiver with a line bit rate of 384 kb/s shows a cost-effective ratio of area to features
