Abstract :
Networks are at the core of global communication. The impact network changes have on network performance has been of concern to researchers. In various configurations, network performance has been evaluated using many methods. The paper presents findings of a network performance evaluation where multiple hardware routers were implemented on a test-bed and performance difference between the two versions of IP were measured. Results obtained show that as the number of routers increase, there is significant difference in delay between the two versions of the Internet Protocol. Also, TCP and UDP traffic types register different performance metrics values.
