Abstract
A novel topology and its control scheme for an improved performance resonant rectifier are presented in this paper. The topology has the advantage of operating in the lagging power factor mode throughout the entire range of input voltage and/or load variation, dispensing with the need of a device snubber. Only two active switches are required because of the half-bridge configuration. The converter is analyzed to find the nature of the input current waveform. A laboratory prototype is fabricated and the proposed control scheme is realized. Experimental waveforms show the excellent improvement of the converter input current
