Abstract
This paper presents a new method for enhancement of the visual quality of compressed video sequences. The algorithm reduces coding artifacts and enhances sharpness of image details using combined filtering that ensures low implementation cost and high quality. Parameters of the combined bilateral filter are controlled by a block grid visibility metric, local entropy value, and dynamic range of pixel values. The results of our experiments show the high efficiency of the proposed approach.
