Abstract
This paper proposes a method to increase the number of times a recordable disc can be overwritten, in-turn the number of Disc Overwrites. The problem is that recordable disc, if overwritten several times with the exact same channel code pattern at the same physical address will become fatigued and will lead to permanent damage. This paper proposes a solution wherein the number of Disc Overwrites can be greatly increased at application level by insuring that at least one byte in a sector is different, each time that sector is written.
