Cordless-cellular integration for 3rd generation mobile communications system

This paper focuses on the issues arising from integration of cordless and cellular systems and proposes a number of solutions which could be incorporated into the current standardisation activities on system integration. More specifically, network integration issues between DECT and GSM as examples of cordless and cellular systems respectively, are examined. This is well justified as DECT and GSM standards, could be considered as complementary components of the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS)
