Abstract :
In this paper, a new vertical handoff (VHO) control method, named as context-aware VHO (CA-VHO), based on cross-layer design is presented. The method uses a prior QoS protection strategy to maintain the quality of streaming sequences before VHO occurs, as compared to most of the conventional VHO control methods which use the posterior QoS protection strategy after VHO occurs.
