Abstract
A chaotic system is a nonlinear deterministic dynamical system whose behavior is erratic and irregular and therefore sensitive to small changes in initial conditions. The discretization chaos in the variable structure control of linear systems is investigated using Lyapunov exponents. The mechanism of occurrence of discretization chaos is discussed with a simulation study of two-dimensional and three-dimensional systems
