Abstract
The Royal Navy uses power electronics devices as components in a wide range of equipments and systems. This paper examines the experience with their maintenance in platform (i.e. non-weapons system) equipment onboard ships. A holistic approach to the subject is taken; the successful functioning of equipment largely depends on all its components working as expected. The impact of other parts of the equipment on the power devices is also described
