Abstract
In this paper, we investigate low complexity antenna selection schemes in spatial modulation (SM). Firstly, we propose a reduced complexity antenna selection scheme based on pairwise error probability (PEP). It demonstrates that there is almost no performance loss in the proposed scheme compared to the original algorithm, while the complexity can be significantly reduced especially with high modulation order. Secondly, we propose an antenna selection scheme based on antenna correlation. It is a novel antenna selection criterion which is fundamentally different from those in traditional multiple-input multiple output (MIMO) systems. It also reduces the computation complexity by orders of the square of modulation order.
