Abstract :
Organisations communicate through verbal, written and electronic channels for the free flow of information. The ability to support this free flow or quality of information impacts on organisational efficiency. Using social network analysis, the paper compares and contrasts the social networks created by verbal, written and electronic communication channels in three companies. The created social networks are also analysed using measures of distance, density, degree and closeness.
