Abstract :
Mobile WiMAX, which is standardized in the IEEE 802.16e-2005/802.16d-2004, is an broadband wireless access technology that enables convergence of mobile and fixed broadband networks through scalable orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA), adaptive-antenna systems, and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) techniques. This paper presents the development and testing of a mobile WiMAX physical-layer testbed, which is constructed using National Instruments RF vector signal generator and RF vector signal analyzer. Implementation issues, including frame synchronization, phase correction, and power normalization, will be discussed. Practical performance measurements in terms of EVM (error vector magnitude) and spectral regrowth after HPA (high power amplifier) will be evaluated
