Abstract :
The authors present a case study of how and why Reuters embarked on a course of going to tender and then migrating its vision and audio services onto a synchronous digital STM16 ring. The STM16 ADM installed onto the network provides a customer network management service. This service enables Reuters to manage the network configuration of existing circuits; monitor alarms, errors and fault conditions; and receive network performance statistics
