Abstract
With the introduction of video disk technology, tapeless broadcasting has become a reality. In order to maximise the effectiveness of this new technology, control software to manage the recording, retrieval, playout and archiving of material has been required. Such software has now been developed and installed in Europe. This paper discusses Logica´s experiences in the control of video disks and in the management of disk media. This experience is based around two products, MediaView, a media management and playout system, and ADC-100, a presentation automation system
