Abstract :
Orbit Satellite Television and Radio Network is a subscription funded direct to home service transmitting to the twenty-three countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa. From Orbit´s inception it was realised that to run a subscription based TV and radio company it would be essential to have a fairly sophisticated computer system to handle calls from potential and existing subscribers as well as dealers. To this end a team was established to investigate the current subscriber management systems (SMS) on the market. A telemarketing software tool kit was purchased from BROCK Systems of Atlanta, Georgia. The system is based on a client server architecture working over a wide area network, with operator terminals running under Windows
