Teleport London International: the new alternative

The liberalisation of telecommunications policies in the United Kingdom has opened new commercial opportunities for independent satellite teleport operators. These new teleports have evolved to provide private earth station facilities for broadcasters and information service providers by means of permanent and occasional television broadcast and data services. The paper describes the way a UK based international broadcaster has grasped the opportunities provided by this deregulated environment by setting up a dedicated subsidiary company, Teleport London International (TLI).
