Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to identify China´s indigenous conceptual dimensions of IT corporate organizational culture and to increase the knowledge and comprehension about organizational culture in specific context, and to promote the theory development and model structure. The first study employed an inductive approach to identify IT corporate organizational culture dimensions. Based on a practical investigation on IT corporate culture of China, and additionally a conclusive analysis, we´ve collected 1039 organizational culture sample scenarios from the open-ended investigations on 253 IT CEOs (or E-business vice president). After examining the quantitative data, 12 dimensions are identified for China´s IT corporate organizational culture, out of which 7 are similar to their western counterparts, and the other 5 are totally unmentioned in the western literatures. In the second study, we conducted a content analysis of IT corporate organizational culture document, and found the outcome of the first study creditable and steady. Through the comparative study, some peculiar dimensions in China and the absent western equivalents in the west are unfolded.
