Abstract
Twin transformers optimize the utilization of pulse-width control in static inverters with sine Wave outputs. This paper describes the features that are responsible for the high quality of the waveshapes generated and the effect of circuit symmetry on the performance and reliability of power systems incorporating thyristors. The simplicity of the turns-ratios involved and its beneficial impact on the efficiency and economy of the overall I system is discussed. A vector diagram of the twin transformer configuration, including a computer analysis of the harmonics present in its synthesized waveform, is presented.
