Abstract
In addition to be a wonderful person, Prof. Pertti Vainikainen was a pioneer in various electromagnetic research domains like antenna for small terminals, MIMO and propagation. I had the chance to meet Pertti 10 years ago at ANTEM conference in Saint-Malo, France, and since then, I´ve been collaborating with him on various research topics. We first started working on small antennas for mobile terminals as well as MIMO techniques. Progressively, we found interesting to focus on the characterization of Mm-wave antennas. This paper describes how we initiated together this common research, why the vision of Pertti was pioneering in this field and the latest achievements from my group in this millimeter-wave characterization domain.
