Abstract :
The authors demonstrate that it is possible to optimize the operation of a waveguide Mach-Zehnder interferometer for generating dark solitons under constant background. As compared with the case of complete modulation, a 30% reduction of both laser power and driving voltage can be achieved simultaneously. Using the signal thus generated, they can obtain dark solitons of relatively high power and short duration by compression through SRS amplification
