Abstract :
Summary form only given. A suitable framework can provide a useful description or definition of the term engineering management and the body of knowledge implied. Such a framework of subjects and disciplines could be useful in designing engineering management educational programs. The first aspect of engineering management is the management of technology. This clearly forms part of the strategic management of the enterprise. Secondly, co-ordination and integration of engineering activities form part of the task of the engineering manager. These activities are defined within the product life cycle that is depicted in this paper
