Title :
A prototype Q-band antenna for mobile communication systems
Author_Institution :
Kingston Univ., UK
Abstract :
A design is proposed for a low-cost, high gain, vertically polarized, Q-band dual-reflector antenna that produces an omnidirectional radiation pattern in the azimuth plane and a directive elevation pattern. The antenna (designed to operate at 38 GHz) is to be used as a base-station antenna for indoor/outdoor mobile communication systems. It was designed, constructed and successfully tested both in the anechoic chamber and in field operation. An excellent agreement was achieved between the designed characteristics and the experimental performance
