Abstract :
Mobile satellite communications systems using 100-beam-class multi-beam on-board antennas have been proposed and some are already in operation. Array-fed reflector antenna is effective for the system. For this kind of on-board antenna, size and number of elements are important for installing the antennas in the satellites. This paper represents the optimal size of feed array elements in order to obtain required gain and number-of-elements reduction.
