Abstract
The authors consider the question: How far is a given nonintegrable distribution from being integrable? After defining a measure of the nonintegrability of a distribution over a given compact set, they show that this measure is bounded away from zero whenever the distribution is not involutive. Methods for estimating lower bounds on this measure are provided. An example is given to illustrate the proposed measure and techniques
