Abstract :
This study examines the influence of cultural differences on multi-national and multi-organizational scientific collaboration in collaboratories. It is found that the impact of cultural differences interplays with other social and economic factors such as project funding, scientists´ own perception of their role within the project, and national policy. Practical implications of the study are also suggested.
