Abstract
Vertical pixel mixture charge coupled device (VPMix-CCD) is with a built-in vertical pixel mixing technology to average two vertically-neighboring components of a color filter array (CFA) image within the same color filter. This paper addresses the interpolation problem for the noisy VPMixCCD image. A novel approach is proposed to exploit the hidden Markov tree (HMT) model and the minimum mean square error (MMSE) estimation for simultaneously performing both interpolation and denoising. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed approach.
