Abstract :
The results of experimental research into the high-efficiency multibeam tristrode device, which is a hybrid based on the microwave-triode and the double-cavity klystron are given. High efficiency /spl sim/70% and large gain /spl sim/25 dB are attained due to usage as intermediate and output stages of electrodynamic two-gap resonator systems. This device may be used as a power (from 10 to 14 kW) linear amplifier for sound or video channels (amplification up to 25-30 dB) in TV transmitters operating at UHF.
