Abstract :
The problem of how to quickly estimate by simulation the loss of a buffer with Markov fluid sources is addressed. The authors derive expressions for an altered rate matrix of the Markov fluid to use instead of the original rate matrix to speed up the simulation. Likelihood ratios are used to recover an estimate of the loss for the original traffic parameters
