  • Abstract
Solar energy is regarded as the distribution generation (DG) in the past decade, and photovoltaic (PV) generation has a quick development in order to mitigate environmental impacts. An efficient Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm is important to increase the output efficiency of a PV DG due to the significant cost of DG system. A novel MPPT control method is described to extract actual maximum power from the PV system by analyzing the nonlinear output power and the charge and discharge characteristics of storage battery. The rapid MPPT algorithm is based on the actual n, Io and an expiatory program, which combines the conventional perturb and observe (PO) methods. The correctness and validity of the algorithm is verified through simulation research. Then the MPPT control method is verified by using Sepic circuit, and the simulation results verified that the proposed control method has quick tracking speed and high output efficiency.
