Abstract :
Telecommunication switches have been implemented based mainly on centralized and distributed control. Centralized control is relatively easy to implement but suffers from limitations on real-time capability. Distributed control involves much higher software complexity and intensive messaging. This paper proposes the parallel processing approach to simplify these problems. A system is under development to test these ideas
