Abstract :
A PWM bridge inverter is proposed which employs only two choppers, one operating at the PWM frequency, the other at twice the fundamental frequency. This results in high efficiency and reliability, reduced losses, weight, size and circuit complexity. Circuit operation is discussed and a thyristor implementation is described. Design criteria and experimental results are given.
