Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to evaluate Field Effect Transistors (FET\´s) and Darlington Transistors in a DC control circuit to provide speed control for cordless power tools. The temperature rise of these devices at various current levels was observed and recorded. The temperature rise effects relative to thermal resistance, "on resistance," and motor stall torque were also studied.
