Abstract
Acceleration procedures are powerful tools to evaluate numerically slowly converging series. Depending on the partial sum behavior, different acceleration procedures are recommended. These procedures are inherently non-linear. In this paper we demonstrate that splitting the original series in two subseries may considerably increase the efficiency of well-known acceleration algorithms. For double series, this basic technique can be applied after splitting the original series into several sub-series.
