Abstract :
As for the trend of point-of-care and the advance of mobile technologies, mobile nursing technologies have shown their potential in nursing care routine. However, adopting mobile nursing technologies is not just a simple activity to purchase the required hardware and software, but rather a social interaction process among users, organizations, and the environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the critical factors that may affect the adoption of mobile nursing technologies in the hospitals. Based on a survey with 193 nursing staffs and administrators of 31 medical centers and regional hospitals, a discriminant analysis revealed that the mobile nursing technologies adoption was significantly associated with business competition, the capability of external supplier, and internal needs. These findings could provide some implications for the practitioners and researchers that are interesting in the adoption mobile nursing technologies.
