Abstract
The control problem of a class of linear hereditary systems subject to a nonlinear (perhaps) time-varying controller is considered. The absolute stability for a class of static nonlinear controllers and the hyperstability for a class of nonlinear time-varying controllers are investigated. Sufficient conditions for absolute stability and hyperstability are given. The stability results are interpreted in terms of positive realness conditions on transfer functions
