Abstract :
Estimation of perceived quality of multimedia content is a significant issue in consumer electronics (CE). The increased complexity and functionality many CE devices offer nowadays provokes a change in paradigm: from a quality of service approach to a quality of experience approach that includes ldquosoft factorsrdquo formerly not regarded as relevant. This paper gives an overview, explains the main influence factors, and suggests a combined salience-based model.
