Abstract
The control theory of "Current-Programmed" switching converters is extended to push-pull circuits with transformer isolation. Both small signal and large signal models that include the effects of transformer magnetizing current and transistor turn-off delays are derived. The models are used to predict the stability and performance of an experimental, voltage regulated, 2.5kW converter operating at 18 kHz. Analytical and measured characteristics are compared.
