Abstract :
This paper presents the methodology that can be adopted for the design and design verification of Switching Systems using a computer simulation technique called `Monte Carlo´. A Switching System that was designed inhouse was chosen for this purpose. The various system resources that are critical in the processing of a call were enumerated. A method was devised to study the behaviour of the various system resources under various load conditions. This simulation study was prompted, taking into account the nature of the problem, the memory constraint of the system and the resource allocation and deallocation strategies of the various resources
