Abstract :
A metal cabinet is chosen to emulate the environment within mechatronic systems, which have metal enclosures in general. There is no channel characterization study for such an environment to the best our knowledge. The wireless channel impulse response has been measured in different volumes in closed metal cabinet at 60 GHz, using a frequency sounding technique for a line-of-sight (LOS) scenarios. Large root-mean-square (rms) delay spread (RDS) and very small path loss coefficients are among the distinguishing features of the developed channel model.
